Littlefield Cottage Healing Arts & Day Spa Welcomes
Lynn Pfeiffer to our team of healing arts professionals!

Lynn Pfeiffer is a Nationally Board-Certified Reflexologist and practitioner of Reflexology for seven years. She received her Reflexology certification from the Lake Lanier School of Massage in March 2003. Lynn then received National Certification from the American Reflexology Certification Board (ARCB) in June 2004. National Certification is voluntary, requiring much additional study and testing by the ARCB and Continuing Education.

Reflexology is Lynn's "second career". She has a BS Degree in Human Resources Management from Brenau University, and worked in that profession for a number of years before receiving a "higher calling" to help people in a more significant and direct way. She believes that the human body has an innate ability to heal itself if it is nurtured and cared for properly, and that Reflexology is one means to this end.

Lynn invites you to call today and let the healing begin!

Lynn is available each Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the following services at Littlefield Cottage:

Reflexology
Relax and rejuvenate the entire body. Reflexology is the science and art of applying a special touch technique to the mini-maps of the human body that are reflected in the feet, hands and ears. Reflexology helps relieve stress and pain and facilitates the natural healing processes of the body on all levels. What Is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a science and natural healing art based on the ancient, proven principal that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears which correspond to every part of the body.  Through application of pressure and stimulating touch on particular areas of the feet, hands or ears, reflexology serves to ease tension, improve circulation, restore imbalances caused by stress and illness, and promote the natural function of the related areas, organs and systems of the body.  Reflexology can help alleviate health problems in a natural way.  Reflexology is a serious advance in the health care field; however, it is important to note that Reflexologists do not diagnose or treat specific conditions.  Reflexology is not a substitute for medical treatment, but is a complement to any type of medical or other complementary, holistic approaches to overall health management.

How Can Reflexology Benefit Me?
Reflexology could be considered an ancient healing art for today's stresses.  Many of our current health problems can be related to stress.  Actually, many medical professionals consider stress to be the number one killer of Americans today.  Reflexology is primarily a relaxation technique, but it is also a unique, proven method that directly affects an improved functioning of the body by restoring imbalances and encouraging healing following illness, stress, or injury.  Reflexology gently "nudges" the body toward optimum health by improving lymphatic drainage and venous circulation, stimulating nerve pathways, and muscle relaxation.  The body has an innate ability to heal itself if it is nurtured and taken care of properly.  However, most of us have spent a lifetime abusing our bodies.  Reflexology is an important tool in helping to reverse this process.

What Can I Expect When I Come For a Reflexology Session?
A Reflexology session is an experience in total relaxation.  On your first visit, you will talk to your Reflexology practitioner so that some background information can be obtained on your overall health, problem areas that need addressing, etc.  You will then only need to remove your shoes and socks/stockings before being gently lifted back in a comfortable, reclining "zero-gravity" chair.  Thumb and finger pressure will be applied to each of your feet.  As the Reflexologist works the reflex points in your feet, you will begin to relax.  Occasionally there may be slight discomfort or tender spots experienced in some areas of your feet, but this is only temporary and is a helpful indication of the need for balance in the corresponding part of the body.  Many people are lulled into a gentle sleep.  While you are experiencing this deep relaxation, your body's own healing mechanisms will be stimulated.  Tension is eased, circulation is improved, and elimination of toxins is activated.  After the session, you may feel calm and relaxed, or you may experience a surge of energy and rejuvenation. A Reflexology session lasts from 40 minutes to one hour.  A course of treatment varies in length depending on the body's needs.
